Correspondence, telegrams, clippings, and writings related to the woman suffrage campaign in Tennessee. Most of the correspondence deals with lobbying efforts and letter-writing campaigns as well as payment of debts, concern for the re-election of Governor A.H. Roberts, and the controversy between two factions of the Tennessee Equal Suffrage League concerning the writing of the book History of woman suffrage, edited by Ida Husted Harper. The clippings include both news articles and political cartoons emphasizing the importance of Tennessee to the fight for suffrage; the writings include planks on woman suffrage for the Republican and Democratic party platforms (1920), anti-suffrage tracts, and rough drafts of articles on the history of Tennessee woman suffrage. Correspondents include Joseph H. Acklen, Anne Dallas Dudley, Margaret Ervin Ford, Ida Husted Harper, Catherine Talty Kenny, Abby Crawford Milton, A.H. Roberts, Amelia Terrett, Kate B. Warner, and Woodrow Wilson.
